Another Beautiful Summer's Day in Bristol

As if!  It's horrible here again today; grey skies, heavy showers and a really chilly wind.  We're all wrapped up in socks and cardigans and this gloomy weather is making me think about possible autumn purchases.  I might put the heating on in a minute.

To brighten up my day, here's a gratuitous shot of Pixie-face working summer brights better than I ever could.

More Paris

Paris was predictably fabulous.  Our break included braving the scrum in front of the Mona Lisa, cocktails and people watching at Costes Hotel, negotiating our way around the Metro, choosing not to pay 8 euro for a can of Sprite, attempting to cycle up the Champs Elysees and then deciding that it was probably not a very good idea, pretending to be cool and hip at Georges Restaurant, heavenly lie-ins uninterrupted by little people and a lot of walking.

So, suitcases emptied, washing on line, birthday cards opened, it's back to reality.   Until the next time...

A repeated outfit but so comfy - sorry for the poor quality pic...  flared indigo jeans - J Brand, silk swallow blouse - Warehouse, tan leather clutch - vintage, tan leather belt - can't remember, tan wedge shoots - Urban Outfitters, gold jewellery - mixture of high street and vintage

high waisted flares - TS, marl grey tee - Primark, tan leather sandals - Gap, tan leather messenger - New Look, tan leather skinny belt - H&M, shrunken blazer - H&M, gold watch - Fossil, gold bangle - H&M

On our way home - boo!  jeans - River Island, stripy tee - H&M, s/steel watch - Sekonda, silver and moonstone ring - St Nics Market, black tote - Longchamp, sandals and messenger as before

Amusement d'anniversaire dans beau Paris

Bonsoir

Apologies for a lack of posts but I've been away on my holibobs in Gay Paree!  It was my birthday on Friday and Himself took me to one of my favourite cities for a long weekend.

I'm about to hit the sack now as we've only been back a couple of hours.  More outfit posts tomorrow but for now, this is how I spent my birthday.

Himself had a bit of trouble with the zoom hence part of my head being chopped off.  Also I have no idea why I have my arms behind my back but anyway...  grey pleated maxi skirt - Primark, apple green tee - Primark, scarf - Primark (detecting a theme?), colbolt blue messenger - ASOS,

Apologies for a really bad close up but Hell, it's the Mona Lisa!  And I spent (part of) my birthday with her!

Some birthday goodies

orange skirt - Zara, off-white slub tee - Zara, shrunken blazer - H&M, black flat suede sandals - Primark, black leather and leopard print messenger - ASOS, gold watch - Fossil, gold hoops, ring and bangle - mix of high street and vintage

Cheap Treats

I've been trying very hard to curb my spending recently as I'm lucky enough to have three holidays lined up within the next three months.  However, these treats were pretty cheap and I really love each one.

Last Night's Outfit

I had a lovely night at the pub with some work friends yesterday.  Admittedly we talked shop pretty much all evening but it was still very enjoyable.  Home by 11.30pm and no hangover today.  BONUS!

black skinnies - Primark, white shirt - Zara, black leather wedgies - Topshop, leather and gold stud skinny belt - Whistles, red leather clutch - vintage, gold jewellery - mixture of high street and vintage

Today's Outfit

Good afternoon campers

Quick outfit post from me as out tonight with some work colleagues.

Between now (4.45pm) and estimated departure time (7.30pm) I need to:

cook tea (a huge feat in itself)
supervise eating of tea (and maybe even eat something myself)
clear away tea debris
dress babes for bed (thankfully they are at this very moment having a 3 way bath with Himself so that's one thing ticked off)
wrestle babes to bed and negotiate telling the shortest story possible
shower and dress myself
chuck some slap on

So what the hell I'm still doing sat here blogging is anyone's guess.  Laters!

beige cotton skirt - Zara, pink tee - Zara, orange belt - Next, cobalt blue bag - ASOS, black leather flats - Office, white watch - Next, olive green army coat (because the weather is SHIT!) - Primark

Looking ridiculously dumpy and like I have a major pot belly issue - I don't *think* I look like that in reality!

Love all these brights together

Saturday at Home

Today I'm at home with the Tooshlings so I'm wearing a very relaxed outfit.  It's gorgeous weather and after a lot of nagging I've said we can get the paddling pool out this afternoon.  They must have caught me at an off moment as, of course, all I really want to do is sit in the sun with a huge spritzer and a good book.

Oh well - splish splosh splash!

jersey grey sundress - La Redoute, white vest - Topshop, flipflops - Havaianas, sunnies - Ray Ban

Snail's Pace

I've had a bob for as long as I can remember - it's been various colours, lengths and variations but it's always been a bob.  About 15 months ago I decided I was fed up with constantly blow drying and straightening my barnet and so I set about "Growing My Hair".  Oh GOD it's taking F.O.R.E.V.E.R!  I can now pull all of it (fringe included!) back into a ponytail which is great but, going on how long it's taken to get it to this length, I've got a good year to go until Iget it to a length I'm happy with. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Two comparisons below:

Work Outfits

A couple of work outfits from this week.

Yesterday I went a little '50s.  I swapped my flats for verrrrrrrrry high pointed stilettos once the walk to work was completed.  Modest as ever, I think I looked pretty damn fly!

'50s style skirt - Primark, marl grey fitted tee - M&S, black flats - Gerard Darel, ancient denim jacket - French Connection, leather handbag - Topshop, silver '60s watch - vintage

And today it was Dress Down Friday so super-duper casual.  Slipped on a pair of oversized tortoiseshell sunnies when outside in the beautiful sunshine.

high waisted flares - Topshop, white cotton camisole - Paul & Joe Sister, tan leather sandals - New Look, tan leather handbag - Botkier

Fingers crossed for a lovely sunny weekend.

Today's (and Yesterday's) Outfit

I've finally recovered from the weekend's excesses and last night I went for dinner with my oldest friend who now lives in London.  It was only the second time she's been back to Brizzle since her baby was born in December so a catch up was long overdue.  Dinner was a very relaxed affair at a really lovely pub/restaurant just behind my house.

red skinnies - Next, white slub tee - Zara, black leather sandals - Office, black leather belt - H&M, colbolt blue leather messenger - ASOS

Today, after a rather early start (5.30am!), myself and Pixie-face spent the day in town lunching, window shopping, generally mooching about and indulging in umpteen games of peek-a-boo in each shop we visited.  Pixie also seemed to spend a huge amount of her day being fawned over by countless SAs and fellow shoppers and the floozy loved every single minute of it!

A very comfortable child friendly outfit below.

off white slub tee - Zara, mocha brown slouchy vest - ASOS, taupe cardigan - All Saints, bashed up jeans - River Island, tan leather sandals - New Look, taupe leather satchel - ASOS
