Today's Outfit

I was out with work colleagues last night and the free bar means that I'm a teensy bit hungover today.  Thankfully Pixie slept until gone 8 o'clock this morning and although Peach sloped into our bed at some point before it was fully light, CBeebies provided ample entertainment to keep her amused until her younger sister stirred.  So today I'm dressing for comfort as we run errands and visit grandparents.  I think black tights would have been better than grey ribbed but I can't be arsed to change now - and I'm sure the colour of my tights won't make much difference to the course of my day.

Jersey minidress - La Redoute, tights - H&M, boots - Solea, leather biker - Next, moody Vuitton Sprouse scarf, mens' diving watch - Sekonda

I would have posted a picture of last night's (wholly more exciting) outfit but the "photographer" had the camera on the wrong settings and the pictures were even less decipherable than they normally are.  He has much to learn.

Life Isn't Worth Living Without.....

* a satchel.  I love this one but (shocker!) it's gone out of stock on ASOS:

ASOS
However I popped into HoF yesterday and had a look at the Mulberry Alexas.  I loved the Plum Soft Buffalo.....

* either of these two Whistles dresses:

* Miu Miu sunglasses.  I'd kill for either of these:

* a (snide) Louis Vuitton Sprouse scarf in grey.  I seem to have a perpetually cold neck from October to April and I live in the red and brown ones that I already have.

* Monica Vinader gold plated ring:
* shiny new Canon SLR:

and a pair of slippers.

Today's Outfit

Today started off promisingly with a lie in (until 9.30am - GET IN!) and then a mooch around town with Peachy-face.  A quick spin through Primark rendered good results and I found a gorgeous calf length skirt in Mango that I may go back and get.  Things deteriorated somewhat on our return from shopping - Himself overcooked the beef, Pixie was pretty whingey and I discovered a stain on the front of a fitted cashmere sweater that my mum had recently donated to me.  Curses.

Anyway this is what I've been wearing:

Stripy maxi skirt - Warehouse, dip-hem teeshirt - Primark, leather biker - Next, scarf - H&M, bag - Balenciaga, watch - Sekonda, boots - Solea

Preparation

As you've no doubt gathered by now, this blog is going to be of the more sporadic persuasion due to such inconveniences as childcare, illness, work, social life (of sorts) and, let's be honest, sheer laziness.

Anyway here we are in the middle of September and it really is starting to feel like autumn.  I spent this afternoon tidying up the garden and putting away summer toys with the babes.  OK, so Peachy retired to nap on the sofa after 10 minutes and Pixie spent more time investigating dead woodlice than helping but the intention was there I'm sure.

The control freak in me enjoys "getting ready" for winter - battening down the hatches etc.  The fashion whore is also really looking forward to dressing for the new season - wrapping up in scarves, pulling on new jumpers, rediscovering beloved boots and, best of all, flaunting that perfect coat.  Which brings me neatly around to new purchases.

After a frenzied few weeks of buying/returning/ordering/returning/buying I nearly have my A/W wardrobe sorted.  There are still a few things on my Can't Live Without List, more of which later, but after a lot of deliberation this is what I've bought.

Leopard print faux fur - TS (picture courtesy of a hideously messy weekend with the bestie and the gay in Stoke)

Fabulously Roman Holiday-esque calf length 50s skirt - brand new ASOS via ebay
"Camel" (actually more like oatmeal) cashmere mix sweater - Uniqlo
Palest pink cashmere mix sweater - Uniqlo
Feather maxi skirt - Warehouse
Grey and black striped maxi - Warehouse

Rolled gold 60s vintage ladies watch - ebay

Lightly waxed parka - Primark Mens' Department.  Perfect for nursery runs, park days etc

Fit and flare skater dress - ASOS
You'll note a distinct lack of shoes and bags above.  I don't actually (sharp intake of breath) need any new shoes at the moment and I can't say I've seen any that would make my very existence more meaningful.  Strange times indeed.....  Bags however are another matter.  As are scarves and sunglasses.  List to follow.

Today's Outfit

Work today in the following:

Dress - Warehouse, opaques - Falke, flats - Gerard Darel, watch - vintage, headband - River Island
