Happy New Year Y'all

Happy New Year readers!  Today I've been at work until lunchtime and then this afternoon I've spent chilling at home with the babes.  This is what I've been wearing:

jersey minidress - French Connection, cotton opaques - Primark, black shoots - Zara, red, grey and black moody Vuitton scarf, black leather tassel bag - Zara

I hope you're welcoming the new year in just the way you want to; whether it's in a fabulously exotic location, with dearest family and friends, bouncing around on a champagne buzz or tucked up in bed snoring peacefully.  The latter is how I'll be celebrating.  Whilst I've enjoyed some amazing New Year celebrations in the past, I've long since stopped doing anything more exciting than having dinner with Himself at home, enjoying a glass or two of something cold and bubbily and sloping off to bed at 10pm.  Bliss!

Enjoy yourselves and let's all hope for a happy, healthy 2011!

New Additions

OK, so, as promised, some snaps of my recent purchases.  As you can see, I felt I was a little low on tops - ummm, and everything seems to be black, white or cream!!!

White fitted shirt with black bow tie - Zara.  I wore this in the run up to Christmas with black leather shorts, opaques, huge wedgies and a bright red vintage clutch.  (Excuse creases, I pulled it out of the ironing pile to take this shot!)

Cream silk mix oversized shirt - Zara.  I'm thinking this will look good with American Apparell black PVC leggings, which I haven't worn for an age, and my new high heeled booties which are pictured below.

Black leather platform booties - Zara.  Slightly too small! but I'm hoping they'll stretch out OK.

Black and nude suede flats - Reiss.  Black flats are an absolute staple for me as I can't do heels and babies at the same time but don't want to spend my life in Uggs and Converse!

Black and cream striped oversized jumper - Reiss.  I adore this, it's such a flattering fit.

Black Peter Pan collar minidress - Warehouse.  This is an easy dress to throw on for work with opaques and flats or shoe-boots.  I love the low back and exposed zip.

Cream silk "Swallow" blouse - Warehouse.  My obsession with anything swallow-themed continues...

Black vest and pink polka dot shorts for bed - Primark.  Himself bought us a gorgeous duck down duvet from the John Lewis sale but it's so bloody warm I can't wear my usual pyjamas under it!

Black and cream silk "Swallow" dress - Whistles via ebay.  This isn't a sale purchase but was bought in mid November.  My lack of camera meant that I couldn't grab a shot of it at the time but here it is now in all it's glory.  I absolutely love it.

Silver and moonstone ring - local market.  This is to replace my much loved Ibizian ring that was stolen at work.

I'm still waiting for a couple of things to arrive so I'll take some more shots when they (eventually) turn up.

Back To It

A belated Merry Christmas readers!

Huge, huge apologies for the total lack of postings since the beginning of December.  My pre-Christmas run-up was painful.  Whilst, predictably, my ever-present forward-planning gene played it's part beautifully and prompted me to buy Christmas presents early, the whole family were caught by a horrible flu bug which took us clean down 10 days before Christmas Day.  Tree buying, food shopping and present wrapping therefore were a last minute scramble and did nothing but further burden my broken body and mind.  Two very drunken nights out, firstly with work and then with best friends only heightened my shabby state and by Christmas Eve I was fit for nothing.  Unfortunately, the bug stayed with us for Christmas and Boxing Day and yesterday was the first day that we all felt more or less normal again. The babes are still restless at night but we're generally much less snotty than we were and I've ceased the constant dispensing of medicine both to myself and my children.

Thankfully, some respite was gained by way of much online sale shopping and I have many purchases to share with you.  Himself and I (sans babes) also ventured into town to fight the masses for bargains but we came over rather feverish in Reiss and decided to abort mission in favour of the fire and laptop at home.

I will post pictures of my new togs as soon as I've worked out how to use my new toy, courtesy of my lovely mum …

I Believe In Father Christmas

I generally refuse to engage in any kind of Christmas chat before 1 December although I will admit to having already bought the majority of the kids' presents this year, just to get it out of the way.  However, the festive season has finally arrived and although we've been unaffected by heavy snow in the West Country, the light dusting that we have received has made me feel decidedly Christmassy.

Dear Father Christmas

I've been a good(ish) girl this year and here's my list of presents that I'd like you to bring please:

Christmas 2010
1 - gold cocktail ring by Monica Vinader, 2 - Panasonic Lumix camera, 3 - Terry's Chocolate Orange, 4 - F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, 5 - black leather flats by Tory Burch, 6 - purple wallet by Miu Miu, 7 - black wool tights by Falke, 8 - Kerastase Masquintense conditioner, 9 - Prada Postcard sunnglasses

Any of these would be fabulous!

Thank you and with love
